Building a Winning Tradition
In Coach Shippen’s third year with the Spartans, the varsity team won the Great Basin Conference Championship and placed 3rd at state! Coach Shippen was named the conference coach of the year and his player’s brought home many honors and even some state records such as the record for most points in a 4A state tournament, the record for most field goals made in a game (Matthew Brumley who scored 30 vs. Caldwell on 14-15 shooting), and the record for most posts in a half (Tyson Durrant who dropped 25 in a half vs. Burley). Peyton Bailey was named the state tournament MVP and Matthew Brumley and Josh Pilling were voted first team all state.
